Created and performed in the year following the Orlando Pulse Massacre, the Black Gold winter guard‘s 2017 performance of “One” utilized the music of Coldplay‘s “Fix You” while the names and ages of each of the 49 victims were announced. The floor, costumes, and flag designs evoked both the “pulse” of a heart stopping and the colors of Pride. This was a very moving performance and a lasting tribute to those who lost their lives, now five years ago.
