Now that I have more time in my day thanks to switching to a work from home job, it’s time for me to get back on the ball of reaching out to my state and federal congresspeople and letting them know what issues I feel are important.
Today, I called Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman about codifying abortion rights. I actually had a moment of confusion when I called Senator Portman’s office as, for the first time that I can remember, somebody answered the phone! Fortunately, since I had a script thanks to 5 Calls, I was able to keep it together and leave a message for the Senator.
You can find your Sentators’ phone numbers and the script in question here.
I also used an altered version of the script to send mail to both Senators via ResistBot on Twitter. I think this is a great backup to and reinforcement of my calls to their offices to ensure my message gets across.
