My first TubaChristmas concert of 2023 is in the books!
First off, I am overjoyed that my Beast is back in my hands!
I want to once again thank Tyler Ferris of Ferris Brass for doing such an incredible job of not only repairing the TWO cracks in my horn’s leadpipe, but also performing other restoration work which really brought my horn back from the dead. The only thing The Beast needs now is a good polishing, which I wasn’t able to do yet since I literally got this horn back as I stepped on the Hugo Young Theatre stage at Ashland University.
It also felt good for me to be standing on stage with my iPad full of G bugle TubaChristmas charts, the rest of the ensemble and the audience in front of me, filled with the sounds of low brass, singing, and jingling bells (and car keys).
I’m skipping the Canton TubaChristmas concert today as doing both Ashland’s concert and GalaxyCon in Columbus was a lot for me, but I do plan on attending the Lorain TubaChristmas concert on Sunday, December 10. I hope to see (and hear) you there!
