LinkedIn is now using everyone's content to train their AI tool — they just auto opted everyone in.
I recommend opting out now (AND that orgs put an end to auto opt-in, it's not cool)

Big Tech’s shenanigans continue. This time, it’s Microsoft‘s LinkedIn, which recently opted all of its members into their new “Data for Generative AI Improvement” setting. This is another attempt to shamelessly steal our data to use for their own purposes, and they’re doing so as sneakily as possible.

Fortunately, tech security experts such as Social Proof Security CEO Rachel Tobac caught this latest end around on user data privacy and showed users how we can opt out of this program. I checked my settings after I saw this post on Twitter, confirmed it was on by default, and turned it off.

I had started this year with the plan to move away from services hosted by companies like Microsoft because of this kind of behavior. I let that slide. Looks like I need to get back on that wagon.
