Elon Musk and his DOGE team have demanded access to the CFPB’s data systems, which contain closely-guarded consumer and banking information. CFPB Acting Director (and Project 2025 co-author) Russell Vought has also issued several directives to immediately cease agency operations. Vought also notified the Federal Reserve that he would be stopping the CFPB’s funding stream.”
