I recently purchased a Samsers foldable Bluetooth keyboard to see how well it types. The goal is that I have a portable solution I can use with my iPad Mini or with one of my e-ink tablets which I can type with. So far, it’s good, not great. There is a hinge which is not quite in the center of the keyboard, so I have to be careful when typing with the letters t, f, or v, as they are half sized keys to ensure the rest of the keyboard is able to line up properly. It’s a small thing, but it does take some getting used to.
Aside from the hinge and the smaller keys mentioned above, the keyboard itself types very well. I actually typed this review on my iPad Mini using the Samsers keyboard. I have great response from the keys in general, and my typing speed is nearly what I normally get with a full sized keyboard. The keyboard lays flat on the table or desk I set it up on, and there is no wobble as I type due to the design of the keyboard. Pairing the keyboard with my iPad Mini was quick and easy, as well, with just a simple touch of the pairing button on the keyboard located next to the on-off switch and selecting the device in my iPad settings.
One of the reasons I chose this keyboard is the mini trackpad which is available on the right side of the keyboard. As with the rest of the keyboard, it is good, not great. The trackpad is small, about half the size of a standard trackpad on a laptop, and is responsive, but the use of multi-touch gestures is limited, which is a little annoying when using this with a tablet that is designed for multi-touch gestures for swiping between apps and pages. Again, this is not a deal breaker, especially for the price.
Overall, I recommend the Samsers Bluetooth foldable keyboard for anybody who wants a small and portable keyboard to use with their mobile devices but doesn’t want to drop a lot of cash on something like an Apple Keyboard folio. This keyboard will work with any Bluetooth devices which supports keyboard input, including Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS/iPadOS, and Android devices. The price is also a great reason to buy this keyboard as you will definitely not break the bank putting money down on this device. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
