5-Hit Game for Lindor
Francisco Lindor was at the head of a Cleveland Indians hit parade today at Target Field. The 26-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Minnesota Twins that marched off with the 11-4 win.
“We didn’t have it today,” griped Indians skipper Kevin Gamin following the game. “Francisco did fine, but as a team, we didn’t do it with the bats and we didn’t do it pitching.”
Lindor did more than fine, dominating the Twins at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance.
“Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere,” the sweet-swinging shortstop told reporters. “When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats.”
Francisco Lindor singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season Lindor is batting .431 with 15 RBIs, 12 runs scored and 3 home runs.
