The beauty of shows which are based on themes such as the seasons or the elements is that they come ready made with four possible movements. In the case of Les Stentors, the drum corps which puts the “I” in “DCI” year after year, their show Elements featured the four classical elements in the order of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air.
2024 Les Stentors Show Announcement:
English translation: Dive into a breathtaking journey through water, earth, fire, and air where nature’s magic comes to life before your watching eyes. Let’s explore together primal harmony and balance through a high-color show.
The Stentors are proud to present their 2024 production: ELEMENTS
The beauty of what Les Stentors brings to the field each season is how they program their shows, tailoring them so that every performer is challenged without asking too much of them, while also creating a show which both fans and performers will enjoy. Considering how the skill levels of the performers fluctuates season to season, this is not an easy task to accomplish, yet Les Stentors has practically made it an art form.
2024 Les Stentors Repertoire
This season’s musical selections for Les Stentors would all feel just as much at home in a high school or college concert hall as they do on the field, with familiar composers such as Russell Standridge and Richard Saucedo. Each selection also clearly represents their respective elements, both in title (pretty easy to figure out which element Earth Dance covers) as well as musical style. Danza Cubanas is a particular highlight of the show, thanks to its fiery Latin flair and the wonderful trombone soloist featured throughout the movement.
2024 Les Stentors DCI Prelims Performance:
Les Stentors has represented Canada in the drum corps activity well throughout the years and has done so in the junior corps activity on its own since 2016. Just coming to the United States and touring with the rest of Open Class year after year in this day and age of soaring operating costs in the activity makes each season successful, and we should applaud every time we get to witness Les Stentors perform. I am already hopeful to see them next year.
