New Ownership at Drum Corps Planet

I started out with the Drum Corps Planet website as one of the early members to join in March of 2002. I went from simply posting in the discussion forums to writing about my experiences marching with the Empire Statesmen that summer, followed by joining the news team as Assistant Editor. When Jason Burns, the first Managing News Editor of DCP, had to leave his role, I took over, a role I have held to this day.

We’ve only had two owners of DCP, with the founder, George Dixon, from 2002 until 2005, followed by John Donovan, the current owner for the past 20 years. Tonight, John made the announcement that he is stepping away from Drum Corps Planet, and that I would become the next owner of the site over the next few months.

I want to thank John for his friendship and leadership of Drum Corps Planet since he took over in 2005. I’ve learned a lot from John and I look to keep DCP going as the only independent online news and discussion site of the drum corps activity.

Read John’s full announcement here.
